I.Working principle

Magnetic particle inspection utilizes the interaction between the leakage magnetic field at the defect site of the workpiece and magnetic particles. It takes advantage of the difference in magnetic permeability between surface and near-surface defects (such as cracks, slag inclusions, hairline streaks, etc.) of steel products and the magnetic permeability of steel. After magnetization, the magnetic field at the discontinuous parts of these materials will be distorted, resulting in partial magnetic flux leakage and the generation of a leakage magnetic field. By taking advantage of the characteristic that the leakage magnetic field at the defect site can adsorb magnetic particles, This attracts magnetic powder to form a magnetic powder accumulation at the defect site - magnetic traces. Under appropriate lighting conditions, the location and shape of the defect are revealed

II. Usage

Fluorescent magnetic particle flaw detectors are used to detect fine defects such as cracks and slag inclusions on and near the surface of ferromagnetic workpieces (such as couplings) caused by forging, quenching, grinding, fatigue, thread processing, etc.

IV. Detection process
